Will teams play better players to win like league games or will it be more like Open Cup games?

I think they will play to win. Both leagues paused their domestic schedules for the entire month for this tournament. So I think they will take it seriously since the schedule isn’t condensed and around other competitions

Oh damn never heard of this.
That is going to be one trashy arse stadium experience with those shite head Mexican fans. God Bless any American teams playing Pumas, America, Chivas, or Cruz Azul

Well, at least this year, the entire tournament is being played in MLS stadiums. So all LigaMX teams playing in US.
Not totally sure why they wouldn’t have wanted to host games too.

They make much more money playing in the US

It’s basically a second rate tournament that’s a money grab to fill MLS and NFL stadiums with Mexican fans
The actual tournament really hasn’t delivered or seem to be taken serious
But the friendlies they did last year in LA with the double headers were a huge success and was pretty good to watch

You are better than this, it hasn't delivered because it doesn't start for 3 days. The prior iterations sucked but this is a completely new format that has potential to be awesome.

Exactly. An no games are being played in NFL stadiums
This format was always the intention of the tournament. To bring the leagues closer together.
COVID impacted the launch of it and was why last year they did the one day, 4 team version. Which was essentially a marketing effort for the relaunch this year.
The first season started in 2019 and launched with 8 teams, and planned to expand after that.
Then COVID delayed it.
I think it should be a fun, competitive tournament

Is Leagues Cup contributing a small amount to the overall lack of interest in the WWC?

Predictions for opening night:
Cruz Azul 2-1 with a late winner over Ft. Lauderdale.
OSCS 2-0 over Houston. Orlando continues running on Duncan.

Was going to watch Messi the games tonight but they’re behind Season Pass so I’ll skip out.

Probably not
Neither competition is going to do huge ratings
