It was so embarrassing to host Southern.
Almost as bad as hosting Grambling.
Whoever is responsible should be fired.

Hopefully not, teams didn’t belong on the same field together in the first quarter when LSU was actually trying.

The off season threads doldrums have officially kicked in this week.

For so long as there are Southern or Grambling alumni/ friends in the legislature, these games will be scheduled.

It's not that serious. It's a rent a win. It's not like they took away a spot on the schedule from a major opponent. I'd rather someone like Southern or Grambling so the Louisiana kids can say they played a game in Tiger Stadium rather than some out of state FCS school like Towson or some shite no one's ever heard of.

Other than Southern looking like a junior high team for most of the first half, what was the problem?

I hope not simply because of the amount of traffic is created.

They should rotate SLU, McNeese, LA Tech, Northwestern, Southern and Grambling....or just make Tulane a permanent opponent

I hope they do. I enjoyed the game and the atmosphere. And the halftime show was amazing!! I think maybe once every 10 yrs. What’s the difference between playing southern ,Idaho, mcneese, or Jacksonville state?

I guess if LSU is going to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to a program for a "rent-a-win" game, at least that money remains in state.
Other than that, the SWAC is just awful football (in general) and the talent/coaching discrepancy between the teams in that conference and the SEC is vast. Even significantly greater than other FCS schools when compared to the SEC.
To each their own, but I don't find those games entertaining at all. That's why I gave my tickets away to relatives for the SU game, and will likely do so again for the Grambling game this season. It's not worth dealing with the heat and hassle to watch those games in person.

As long as we have to schedule the "rent a win" games, I'd prefer to keep the money in state

I rather them schedule Southern or Grambling over UMass. It is good for the state and both those fanbases will come out to the game which they have proven it.
