You didn’t say out of high school. You said out of Louisiana. Livingston not even close. They didn’t have Gatorade player of year when Parish played. He destroyed everyone

I hear the St Aug. argument but Destrahan high has to rival them if not be above them. Every year it seem that two or three kids are moving on to play college ball with many of them going to LSU.
Their list starts with Ed Reed maybe greatest safety in nfl history. At least he is in the discussion.
Next is the arguably the best WR in the game today in Justin Jefferson. I don’t know if anybody on St Aug’s list tops either of them.
You also have successful named college players like Glenn Logan, Jordan Jefferson (yes I feel a certain way about him too but he did start at LSU for several years), and Rondell Mealey.
I’m not sure how you want classify it but there is the story of Devon Walker getting paralyzed for Tulane then the saints signing him an honorary contract.
There are also a ton of small college players and guys who had a cup of coffee with the nfl.
Plus I had to put punters here but he did play 13 years on the nfl, Mike Scafries was also a representative of DHS.
And lastly as far as coaches go yeah Ed Reed turned coach but current successful Nichols St head coach Tim Rebow went to DHS.
So in my opinion, the top tier guys go to Destrahan as they already have one HOFer and hopefully have a second on the way. At that next level St Aug dominates but then you move to that third level and I feel Destrahan is just stronger there too.
Personally I give the nod to Destrahan over St Aug

Back in the day, Redemptorist was the basketball school in La. About 8+ state championships and turned out players like Howard Carter, Derrick Taylor, and Tom Curry. The ‘83 team was bigger than LSU’s that year.

I'm a product of St. Aug too, but I didn't do shite. Class of 91. #purplepride

back in the day, Byrd, Fair Park, and Captain Shreve pumped out some pretty good athletes

You are correct! Barbe’s run of baseball superiority began in the 90’s!

Not specific to this argument, but the best athlete to ever come out of a Louisiana HS has to be Mike Miley.

Odell is from Newman too. Doubt he’s a HOF but he was absolutely elite for a few years
Seems like everyone gets in the HOF now a days so I wouldn’t be surprised if Odell eventually gets in. Even Pat McAfee made it in.
