and not let you know until the day of?
Don't even bother to ask you first.
"Hey, I told Jessica and her husband we'd help them move on Saturday".
"We have dinner with my parents tonight".
The frick is this about? I'm going to start requiring my girl to book an appointment on my calendar like everyone else has to.

It's a means of control.

Woman - "What you wanna do this weekend?"
Man - "Dunno. Doesn't matter to me."

And you know damn well all hell would break loose if you did the same to them.
ETA: Along the same line:
My girl will volunteer other people's time through me. For example, I have to put together a shed and there are some big pieces that would need 2 people to assemble (her assumption). She says, "You'll have to call ___ or ___ to come over to help."
No consideration given towards ___ and ___ having their own chores and very young kids that they have to concern themselves.

frick OFF. We're adults. You can "rent" dudes from UHaul to carry boxes for cheap. She just wants to drink wine while you work.

I can't think of anything that sets me off more than someone telling me I'm going to do something

Who doesn’t love a forced friendship with the husband of your wife’s friend?
Goddammit both guys are praying that y’all go out and have a girls night

NEVER agree to do anything ahead of time. 99% of the time, its a trick.
just keep your options open and if you end up doing what she wants, win-win, but you dont, you dont get blamed for it later.

Get your house in order. Put her in her place.

She’ll continue to do it, and you can’t stop her. They’re wired to do it I guess.

Yeah, that would not fly with me. My girlfriend doesn’t do this at all. Probably because she knows it’s hard enough to get me to sign up for something even with advanced notice.

Yea mine wouldn’t dare tell me I’m moving someone else.
Now I may have an impromptu Saturday redecorating the kids room but she’s not throwing out of the house shite on me last minute.
I guess she actually respects me though. Sucks for you.
