1701 BBQ in Beaumont is legit. It's right off the interstate

worth seeking out

Not in Galveston, no. Killens would be a 20 min detour west to Pearland. Definitely worth it. Easy to do on your way in or on the way back to BR.

I second Killens in Pearland. Not too far off the path for very good BBQ.

IDK if The Spot is stilled owned by an LSU guy ? If it is it's a great place to eat bar food. Haven't been in 10 years ???

There isnt amazing bbq on the island. There are great seafood options though. For seafood id recommend:

- Katies Seafood
- Saltwater Grill
- Gaidos

If youre looking for something fancy id recommend:

- Rudy & Pacos
- Vargas
- Number 13

I was very impressed with the restaurant scene in Galveston.

Darlenes and Sugar and Rye are solid as well as others mentioned.

I can’t remember the place, but I’ll keep looking, but we did a ghost walking tour that we loved and then went to a hole in the wall seafood place that had a shrimp poboy the size of my arm. Amazing.

My favorite spot after being touristy on the strand with a couple hurricanes from Lapa Lapa.

Side note: the price for the dolphin tour is worth it with the USS Texas being in dry dock.

Lunch: BLVD Seafood - Gulf Coast Flat Fish Stack
Dinner: Riondo's Ristorante

Heard Katie's is very good as well, just didn't have an open reservation.

Agreed that you might as well stop at Killens for BBQ.

This is a good list. I would add Black Pearl cafe to this list also.

Someone on my Facebook page shared a post of pictures of the food there. Looks delicious.

I’ll take Katie’s in Galveston over Katie’s in NOLA any day.

The F&D directed us to the spot years ago to watch an LSU game. I don't remember the food but it was a fine place to watch a game.
