Your logic makes no sense. You admit to not knowing much about how slot values work, now you are telling everyone what is going to happen? You said "It seems to me, if they can pay a HS kid $7.2, then they can pay Crews higher than $8M." It's not that they can't pay Crews over $8 million. They can, but that then affects how much they can pay their other picks. All of this changes on a team by team basis. Just because one team would be willing to pay Crews $9 million doesn't mean that every team will do the same.

i thought drafting the best player is more valuable that more darts on fricktards that you'll never hear of again.
Well if they did that, they wouldn’t be the Pirates, now would they?

Skenes is the most big league ready college player I’ve ever seen.
As great as Crews is he still had a slump this year and hitting is game of failure in and of itself.
The only time Skenes looked even remotely human was in the SECt and I’m fully convinced Johnson wanted an early exit.

i think max clark just because its pirates with #1 and they want to pay under slot.

Wyatt Langford now the favorite on draft kings at +150. Was +350 yesterday

Probably Clark since the pirates want to sign under slot and spend more money on other rounds in the draft. Boras will get Crews his money.

Someone willing to accept less than slot from the cheap-arse Pirates. Their owner doesn’t get shite on enough only because the A’s owner has stolen everyone’s attention with the move to Vegas. But the Pirates have been running low payrolls and taking revenue-sharing handouts for years. Bob Nutting is terrible.
