Well his OBP and whiff rate for the last month and a half suggest maybe he does.
It is worth keeping an eye on, but I'm not ready to demote him yet.

If an obvious upgrade, such as Tim Anderson, is available in a year where you're a favorite to win a World Series, where's the downside to making that move?
Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't Anderson not have the greatest rep as a teammate/clubhouse guy? If that is true than AA won't even consider him b/c we all know that he is big on clubhouse chemistry and fit(and rightly so)

It comes down to who you think Arcia is as a player, is he the guy we saw in April and May or is he the guy we've seen in June and July and pretty much his entire career outside of last April and May.
If it's the latter, you have to consider making an upgrade if it's available. Like someone said in another game thread this week, this is probably the strongest team we've ever had in the Snitker era, no time to frick around, go for the World Series.

Larussa hated him but his teammates love him. He was a clubhouse favorite on the WBC team.

Like I said it's worth keeping an eye on. The next couple of weeks will.be the critical ones in terms of answering that question.
But, Arcia is near elite defensively so it may be a case of keeping him in there just on that alone b/c we are so elite offensively everywhere else and you can't afford to be weak defensively up the middle.

Thanks.
Larussa is a fricking douche who hates everyone so no concerns then. If he hates you that's probably a good thing.

In his defense, he was being facetious.

For being nothing more than a pinch runner, Hilliard isn't particularly good at it.
That Cleveland Catcher beat Hilliard's arse at home plate and it took Hilliard way too long to get to the plate. He is slow.

Hader is at the top.
Rumors that Detroit is shopping Lange as well.
Wonder what it would take to get Joe Kelly from the White Sox. At least he can throw a hundy and has a wicked slider. Don't know about his contract status either

I’m just going to say I trust Alex Anthopoulos more than us message board warriors when it comes to building our roster.

So message board warriors aren't allowed to discuss?

One of the best bullpens in the NL. I think ranked 2nd

He’s an all-star this season and people want to demote him?
What the frick stupid dumbass planet are we living on?

Anderson dropped off a bunch last year, and has been flat out terrible this year. He's been very bad defensively for two years running. I'm not sure how he would be an obvious upgrade at the moment.

Yeah I'd just more rather keep Arcia at short since that is the case.

The Braves are on a 27-3 run. Maybe the players we’ve got are damn good. 1-26.
Posted on 7/5/23 at 7:34 am to LCLa
Despite the loss the Braves still:
Lead NL East by 8
Lead NL by 7.5
Lead MLB by 1.5
Still 9-1 in last 10 games. There are no 8-2 teams in that span and five teams are 7-3.

And also, he is a douche who actually views himself as a modern day Jackie Robinson. I know he's supposedly popular in the White Sox clubhouse, but he has been a shite stirrer who has caused some problems for them.

On any transaction, the Braves have to consider culture first. Culture is what got them where they are right now.
Posted on 7/5/23 at 8:10 am to 257WBY
Probably also worth noting that Anderson has a Fangraphs WAR of -1.1 this season. So he's a piece of shite and he's playing terrible baseball. Hard, hard, hard pass.
Posted on 7/5/23 at 8:18 am to VADawg
Yeah, I'd say not to Anderson. But not at all against trading for a legit back up that could spell Arcia some. And if he (the back up) gets hot, then maybe ride with him more. But I think trading for a starter would do more harm than good.
