He's an easy target. I think he's pretty good at his job. And having listened to other SEC school's cities' radio personalities, Baton Rouge is spoiled for good radio sports shows.

I like him. At the same time, I can acknowledge he's kind of a pompous douche. We all have our flaws though

I used to really enjoy his show. Now it has become too much let’s talk about how I was right but never acknowledge when I’m wrong. It also seems like he doesn’t prep as much as he used to. Way more dead air, fake laughs, and repetition to get through segments. 104.5 is still great compared to other markets but can be hard to listen to at times. Josh Pate and Chuck Oliver get more of my attention now.

For me it is that he just comes off as trying to be the cool kid way too hard. The whole bourbon snobbery, always dropped names, etc.
That said, he is pretty good at doing a radio show and obviously a hard worker. Maybe just not try so hard to be liked.

He is cocky and thinks he is always right. I only listen to him for the interviews. He is much less of an arse because he can’t be an arse to the people he is interviewing.

He seems to be good at his job, most of the time. He does quality interviews and his preparation is good. At times, his ego gets in the way of quality radio. Strangely enough, I prefer Jordys show over all of them. Hunt Palmer=too slow and boring, Scone=good, at times his ego makes it unbearable, T-Bob and Hester=I want to like it, but can’t….. Josh Pate = GOAT

He’s about as solid of a local radio guy as there is and normally has sound takes. Never really understood the hate. The “callic high” shite is the worst though, I’ve never seen someone take so much pride in where they went to HIGH SCHOOL as chs people

I won't try to answer for other but for me it boils down to a few things.
One, he's arrogant. Hell, I'm arrogant but at work I know I can't be. My success boils down alot to my likability. For some, their content or substance can outweigh their arrogance and for me, he just doesn't do it.
Two, he continually blows things way out of proportion. The exaggerated rants, fake hard laughs, etc just isn't my preference.
Third, I am more of a content guy and he's more of a production guy. For my money and tie, Hanny is the best BR has ever seen. Scone has done well and that approach works (he graduated top of his class from the Colin Cowherd school of journalism) but I think he's rather spend hours and hours researching a way to prove an edgy take than he would looking into something organically and see how it develops. Sometimes you don't need an answer but he too frequently feels that there is an answer, he knows it and if you don't agree you're wrong.

I used to like him when I was younger but he lost me when he was pumping gamecoin and trying to convince everyone that it was the next big thing and used his influence to inflate the price then dump it off. That was the slimiest, most piece of shite move I’ve personally seen a radio personality pull off.
Also, the fact that he’s constantly pumping his roofing company on the air is corny and douchey too.
He just comes across as a piece of shite grifter to me. If he wants to make money by being an idiot on the radio be my guest, but I’m not going to listen to a radio show where some dickbag tries to get as much free advertisement as he can and put his hand in my pocket IRL

Living in Birmingham is hard enough and Scone along with Hanny, Ott and Hunt help - there are times I am not crazy about the content or the commentary, but overall you get good info on the Tigers as well as the rest of the conference and top programs across the nation - in Bham its the gumps and awburn - for those of you that complain, you just do not know how great you have it.

Can’t listen when he goes into the High Voice Falsetto shtick he does trying to be funny or fein offense; makes me want to turn on an Eduardo Perez podcost.
