NOLA.com article
There should be a mob with pitchforks and torches (LED of course) going after politicians for wasting our tax dollars on this crap

That’s $3.5 mil per bus. I get that that includes the cost for charging infrastructure, but still. Wtf

Will people still fight to get on them when they’ve been involved in a minor fender bender?

Aside from this probably being stupid for New Orleans in particular with all its other issues, electric buses make a lot of sense in many towns.

That's leadership by example!
This is undoubtedly one of the topics she covered when she flew to Korea in her electric plane!

How long until they are up on cinder blocks with missing wheels?

How do you justify the 10x initial cost and half the useful life?
Posted on 7/2/23 at 10:15 pm to Klondikekajun
Mitch definitely get paid off this shite

They’ll be in a landfill by 2025

They aren’t 10X. If you read the article a shite load of that money is for a storm hardened micro grid charging network. Now realistically that won’t happen and it’ll get stolen. Nola still gonna Nola. And their useful life isn’t half. Idk where you made those numbers up from. Park City has been using electric buses for years. You save a ton of money on “fuel” and the maintenance is a fraction of a diesel. There’s several business cases available publicly on them.

What’s the problem with less smog in the city? It’s a fricking grant. Not tax payer dollars.
Some people find the dumbest stuff to complain about. “Heres a gift of 20 buses for your city. “
Just say thank you or don’t. Move on.
Find something important to complain about . Would you rather they go to another state? For fricks sack. You sound miserable.

Thats 14 murder victims per bus, pretty good murder to bus ratio, glad to see New Orleans stepping it up.

Half of them will be burnt up with exploding batteries within one hurricane season.

Where in your pixie dust world do you think "grant money" from the Dept of Transportation comes from?
Perhaps I am miserable, but if so, it's only because folks like yourself make me misersble;. Y'all think money grows on trees and the gov can just keep spending with impunity.
NEWSFLASH GENIUS- some of us work hard for our money and don't want boondoggle projects running up an already unsustainable debt. Perhaps it does make financial sense somehow, but given the city's track record, I highly doubt it.

I hope they are streetcar proof.

And 40% of that 70 mill goes on the credit card and devalues the dollar even more.
