Guess it balanced out eventually for him as he looks better as an older guy who looks good for his age vs his younger self always looking older than he was pretty much.
Funny how that works for some people.
Anywho
*Personal story.
In my Junior or senior year I had a sports marketing class as an elective that most people skipped from time to time and I lucked out the day Skip was a surprise guest and spoke to our class for 10-15 minutes or so.
After that interaction with maybe a class that day of 40-50 Tops I was no longer questioning how he motivated at that time 4 Championship teams in the last 9 seasons.
Saying all that 2000 championship wasn’t a surprise to me after. His knack to tell stories and get you in the feels, is absolutely off the charts.
As said above already, he is a special man indeed.

I got to shake his hand tonight and he said hello to my 2 year old. Special night.

He arrived in Baton Rouge right around the time I was graduating. Baseball was not on my radar back then.
I heard him give a speech shortly after he was hired. He had the audience mesmerized. I knew right from the beginning that special things were going to happen.

The jump from 75 to 85 in lifestyle really is crazy to me….deteriorates so fast. Scares me when I think of my folks in their early 70s

When I was a little younger, I often envied the players that played for Skip and Dale Brown. I can’t imagine what fun it would have been being taught discipline and self esteem.

I met Skip many years ago and found him to be a likeable person. He indeed looks good for someone his age.

The guy who wouldn't hire Saban back to instead keep Les Miles?
Great man and all-time great baseball coach but was in over his head as AD.

Skip is still super sharp especially for his age. I hope I have it together as much as he does if I make it that far
After watching his interview on Wafb yesterday I thought the same thing. I even told my wife he's more coherent in an interview than I would be now.

My wife and I ran into him walking the streets alone at the 2006 Final 4. My wife said he was walking like her grandpa did after his stroke, so we’re concerned. I said “you ok, Coach? Anything we can do for you?” He just smiled and said “no, just needed to get some air but thanks” and he just kept strolling.
It was a rather bizarre encounter.
I know, CSB.
