If he did not come here, where would he have gone?

Anyone have info, just curious?

He turned down Tennessee after a call from Peyton Manning.

He was a find for Coach Kaz at Air Force, but really he went to Air Force because he wanted to serve. He went to a baseball powerhouse for high school.

From Air Force he could have gone anywhere in the country.

I think I recall JJ knew of him back when he was at AZ and told the AF coach if Skenes ever decided to transfer to let him know. But I might be mixing up stories

I heard that Skenes wanted to come here because of the Pitching Coach Wes Johnson.

I think I heard him say that once - he wanted to be trained by Wes.

He was a target of many schools but nobody expected him to turn into what he did

After the Southern Miss game last year, Jay looked in the transfer portal and got in contact with him right away. He was a very good player for Air Force.

He was the John Olerud award winner last year. He was very well known when he hit the portal and everyone wanted him.

No one saw this season coming tho.

Everybody was after him. Johnson was tipped off by the Air Force coach started recruiting him heavily. We had to fight off Vandy.
