Skenes...a good dude and team mate

We know how awesome it was carrying Millazo to the dog pile so he could celebrate with the team. That was an awesome gester to his team mate. That is one data point of his character.
But ive noticed in a couple of the team photos last night that he is almost hidden and hard to find. He isnt dowwn in front, center or top holding the trophy, but you have to look to find him.
Then his parents, i dont even know what they look like. Of course other player parents werent prominant either but this is a star and top pick in draft and they too are just hidden in the crowd.
Its just a tid bit i noticed. He is a good dude, humble and all about the team

I suspect the picture positioning is because he is one of, if not the tallest players on the team.
But him carrying Milazzo to the dogpile was one of the most selfless moments I can remember seeing in sports in a long time. He is one of, if not the biggest star, on the team. He was the MVP of the tournament, and maybe the most discussed player in the tournament given his potential impact on any game he might play. And it wasn't done for a cool "photo op", but simply out of care for a friend to make sure he was able to participate in the celebration with everyone else.
NO ONE would have blamed him if he, like the rest of his teammates, would have excitedly jumped over the dugout fence to hurry to the dogpile. Yet, he deliberately stayed to help an injured teammate (who is not a star) join the celebration. Even though he knew that meant he would be the last to reach the celebration.

I dont mean to take ANYTHING, from this kid. I'm sure he is a top notch guy.
The fact that everyone is so taken aback by a kind, humble, star shows how far society has fallen. This behavior should be the norm, not the exception.
Again, I'm sure skenes is a helluva man, and the world would better with more like him.

His face when he piggybacked Milazzo suggests that he was helping his buddy for his buddy’s sake. Not for a photo op.
He was intent as hell. He almost didn’t smile. He treated it like a mission.
It was a lot more than a piggyback ride. I only wish that man the best.

Noticed when he left from one of the interviews he straightened out everyone's chairs. The military part of him paying attention to details.

The guys who interview him say the same type stuff. It's always strong hand shake, yes sir, no sir, thank you, etc. He's very mature for his age.

When he was awarded the most outstanding player trophy he raised it for a brief moment then put it down and raised the team trophy.
I am sure other athletes have done the same, but the man is a rock star in the college ranks, a damn legend amond giants that have played LSU baseball and sports in general...think Shaq, Joe, Ben....and he just does the right things.

Him carrying Milazzo definitely comes from his time in the military, no man left behind. Props to him for going about his business and doing things the right way.

I think he is humble and all about the team, which comes from his family and military. I think he really understands that these guys have been here longer than himself, seniors leaving and finding jobs, while only a few of us will go to MLB. In these pics he is just hanging back enjoying it.

Who was the idiot poster who says he walks around the locker room and tells everyone he works harder than they do? LOL

Ty Floyd said in a pre regional interview that Skenes' persona in the locker room is completely different than the one we see on the field. Floyd described him as a "big goofy clown, a big kid" but added "HE IS THE LEADER OG THE TEAM".

There was an online discussion earlier today about building a statue outside the Box to honor this team and I suggested that the perfect statue would be “Skenes carrying Milazzo”, because that symbolizes what a true champion is all about.

And Milazzo represents the underdog who refused to be counted out.
