How do I reduce tension?

I seem to not swing freely sometimes.
How does one reduce tension pre-swing and during the swing?
I think this tension robs me of some distance.
Ideas?

Get you a whack before the round. Never play with a loaded gun!

Work on your breathing. Try taking a deep breath and exhaling before every shot, including putts.

Breathe. Create a routine and stick with it. Find a jingle that relaxes you ("Aim small, miss small" or "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" etc). Dont ground the club. Your arms will tense up as soon as the weight hits em as you initiate the lift.
