I was at ccl at the end of the bent greens. Initiation 10k stock 11k and monthly base of $275. It was an incredible deal.

All courses go through their bullshite period from time to time. CCL isn’t immune. Trust me.

It’s shocking how bad it is. When you look at how much better MS and AL are (light years), it makes it that much worse.

Agreed 4-6 really good golf options across the whole state compared to others close by being double digit plus, public golf is the worst in this country

My buddy is a member of some deal outside of Jackson. Gets him 3 courses (1 solid course and 2 are small 9 holers) and 3 ranges with unlimited carts for $200 a month.

Louisiana just sucks in general

So the backstory I heard on CCL’s ‘membership drive’ was regarding some mishaps on managing financials by a staff member. Apparently they had a $250k issue. And the way to overcome it quickly was to quietly reduce the initiation fee to $5k per new member and go get 50 +/- new members to cover it.

Once the money was raised thru initiation dues paid, the fee would go back up. But apparently new members were told to keep it quiet, and well, that didn’t happen.

It is easily the worst possible State for golf.

It’s terrible on all fronts.

You’re probably talking about Randy Watkins Golf Group? It’s actually three 18 hole courses. 2 are par 72 courses and one is a par 64.

I don’t know what the deal costs. Have never looked into it because I’m an hour and a half from Madison, but I’m sure we’re probably talking about the same thing. All three courses are well maintained from my understanding.

This heat wave must be the worst for the under-funded and over played tarmacs y’all are dealing with. Even our Charleston courses are struggling. Buncha hand watering, but at least our tracks have the staff to deal with it.

Tough couple of weeks coming up for the LA dudes, stay strong at the tips guys!

So what's the latest status on UC membership these days? Still gotta get on a waiting list to join? Then once you do get in you still can't get a tee time on friday afternoons or in the morning weekends?

Lake Caroline, Patrick Farms, and Whisper Lake. Last I saw it is somewhere in the $200s, maybe $260 a month. Lake Caroline is the best of the 3, but good luck getting a decent tee time on the weekends and pace of play sucks. Patrick Farms isn't a short trip if you live in Madison either. I live right by Lake Caroline but I chose to join Deerfield. Deerfield is a better course anyway though.
