Once upon a time this place was legit great. Then it became way too inconsistent.

IF they have the Godzilla, you want that. Also the gator cheesecake is a must. Stay away from the rabbit. I've had it on two different occasions and it was really bad. Many like the deep fried poboy, but I find it to be overwhelming; it's too much. The redfish with the crawfish and pistachio chili sauce is a great get as well.

Haven’t been in a decade. There was something with fried oysters that was very good. Don’t see it on current menu. Crabby Jacks had good oysters too from what I remember.

Been a long time since I've been, probably 5 years, but I always enjoyed the heck out of the rack o' lamb they served up.

Ha, I did go to the Mapke Leaf before and after and I too found it quite touristy. Our server was pleasant and efficient almost to the point of rushing us. She did send a comp cheesecake app. The entree portion was decent but the sides were terribly presented on small plastic plates and not on the same plate as the protein. It was alright but not worth the money in my opinion

Went once years ago and there was the unmistakable stench of a dead rat in the wall. The place was almost empty and yet they still sat us near it. I almost busted my arse walking through the greasy arse floor in the kitchen. I also had a large group of friends go there after the LA Derby one year and a roach crawled across the table and onto one of the girl’s plates. Not a roach in the corner or on a wall… on to the middle of a packed table in a fully lit dining room. Never was inclined to go back after those incidents

Oddly enough I like their fried chicken. I haven’t eaten there enough to tell you what’s the better things to order.

Austin Leslie before he died worked at Jacques-Imo's and that is his fried chicken recipe to this day, the same as it was at chez helene

that fried chicken is world renowned

Love Jacques iMos. Owner is kind of a creep though. Sits at the bar and hits on young girls and hands them bottles of wine and champagne trying to impress lol.

I always get the alligator cheesecake and also the catfish\crab dish. Shits GOOD
