I didn’t like the Morgan bunt based on all the factors you listed and it’s just not something we do. In a vacuum it would be fine.
I liked the steal play, merrifield is just too slow for it, and Kling maybe should have broke for second instead of diving back.

He made great moves with pitching last night and that’s what won the game. This is ALL that matters

This is a play we ran in high school and I have to assume it’s a similar call here. The runner on first takes a a slightly larger lead than usual to induce a pick off. The “play” is, if the pitcher throws to first, the runner on 3rd breaks for home
Maybe the runner on 1st messed it up by not breaking for 2nd? That makes it a tougher play on the 1b and if he tries to throw out the runner at home ,he’s throwing across his body and even if he makes a great throw, still allows the runner on 1st to reach scoring position. Makes more sense that way.

Bunting Tre was stupid. Hot hitters should hit. Not bunt.
And how many times has bunting worked out for us in CWS?

I think when you face a good team and you have the momentum along with a 3 run lead, you let the game come to you. That failed bunt bailed the pitcher out who was definitely feeling pressure.

1st and 3rd play- Honestly, no issue. You have Pearson up against that same lefty, really difficult AB. Tried to swipe 1 insurance run. Probably could have been executed better by Merrifield, but decision wise I thought it was fine.
You’re up 3. It was a fine call. WF wasn’t coming back.

No, it isn't. Statistics say this is false.
What statistics? What assumptions are we using in your scenario?
In game decisions are not made in a vacuum. Relying strictly on historical outcomes ignores the fact that decisions are a function of risk and reward, and that you are in the same position as the the statistics you are relying upon were derived. I mean I think “statistics” can basically be thrown out the window just based on the anecdotal observation that we are a below average bunting team.
Statistics suggest that nobody would ever win money at a casino. Not only do people still gamble, some actually win.

2 on, no out, bunting with Tre Morgan- In a vacuum, it’s a good call.
No way would I have taken the bat out of Morgan’s hands in that situation
