Marc is responsible for the position players and outfield placement during games. Dude has had the outfield guys lines up in exactly the right spots every game of the CWS. Jay mentioned him in the postgame after the 1st TN game. Marc came over from AZ. He helped Pearson in LF with the sun spots. AZ had that issue back when they made it in 2021.

CJJ has called him the best player positioning coach "on the planet".

I'm interested to see if he becomes the 3rd paid assistant in July or if we go for another recruiter.

Our ops guy being a former area scout makes a ton of sense as a third paid coach.

But what about his alignment of infielders?

Wanaka knows alignment. He will be working double under CBK as well

i guess everyone learns things/gets better along the way? seems like earlier in the season infielders and outfielders were out of position a lot.

Used to not be the case. They were just poor, very poor until they got a paid position.

Now with all the money flying around who knows...

I forget his name but our recruiting coordinator from last year said that he got paid through the summer camps.

Usually they are in charge of some summer camps and get facility use for free, $700+ per week for a kid at Alex box for baseball camp. Kind of a loophole to get them a paycheck. Other than that I think it’s coaching clinics and getting paid to attend tournaments. Not much though so it’s usually a one year gig

They would get the money from summer camps but they weren’t eligible for insurance and 401k and all the benefits of being a full time state employee.

You gotta love baseball to do that shite for real.

This isn’t intended to sound rude or short. But given Wes is still there and they’re one of final 4 teams, it’s likely not something he’s investing too much time in given his hands are full and Wes is still doing his thing.

He’ll worry about pitching coach after season concludes.

I think there’s 6 summer camp sessions, which range from $300-$800 depending on age and length of the camp.

I have no clue on the amount of kids allowed at each session, but if you average the cost at $550 and say 50 kinds attend each session, that’s $165,000. Not too bad. Again, this is a guess, I don’t have a clue about specifics.

They make a frick ton off summer camps. They have hundreds of kids at each session.

Remember when Skip retired he had a deal with smoke to keep a percentage of the summer camp money lol.

Some of the players that don’t go to cape cod stick around and help out and get paid.
