MVP outside of Skenes
I love Skenes as much as the next guy but what Ack did last night was just as good in going about the same amount of innings.

Not sure he can be blamed for the base running error. I think that was on the coach with the "go on anything" order that was a mistake. No reason to be in front of the ball in that situation

Add in 1 very shitty base running error and slide into home.

This event/criticism is being overblown.

He could not go back to third. He gambled on the throw from third coming in high to the catcher so he got into the throwing lane and stayed upright to hamper a high throw. He used his hands to hamper a low throw when he saw the catchers glove held low. The throw from third base was miraculous in that it came off of a bobbled transfer and a throw ricocheting off the turf into the glove of the catcher. That result happens once in a thousand attemtpts. It was “meant to be”.

I am convinced that God loves baseball and orchestrates things like this for His own reasons.

Johnson said after the game they were in a "red" situation, which meant Morgan was to go on anything on the ground. So, there was no baserunning error. Morgan did what he was told.

If he only knew how to slide we would have beat Wake and be sitting pretty right now

At best you could say we would have been tied at 3 going into the bottom of the 9th. Everything else is still a huge unknown.

When a coach tells you to run on contact, you run on contact. Not crazy about the slide but I'd bet my house that Morgan got the sign and went

That’s great, but would you say he’s been amazing at first and has really hustled throughout the entire postseason?

He's hustled from the moment he showed up on campus. Will go down as a Tiger great. Will miss him!

Well two nights ago this board -a very big chunk of it- pronounced him the reason the team lost to Wale Forest because of his “Little League” slide into home.

It wasn’t the reason why we lost, but it was a pretty terrible slide. And I’m not buying that he turned around and looked over his shoulder to get in the throwing lane. Nobody thinks of that in the moment. Or should. Once you commit to going, you bust your arse and don’t look back and stretch out and dive to the outside of the plate so you can swipe it with your hand.

But like I said, that didn’t lose the game. And he’s more than made up for it at the plate and on the bag. He’s made himself a lot of money this past 3 games.
