I'm sure it'll be unpopular but the Dan Schneider thing has always perplexed me. The allegations (or allegations of allegations) have been around for years but were rarely detailed. Then subsequent to "me too" you start getting a bunch more press about it, but most of them were innuendos and accounts that sound more like stretching douchebag behavior into emotional abuse than the long-claimed sexual abuse claims I've always expected to take him down (an opinion admittedly formed by this board more or less deeming him a pedo rapist).
Combine that with the fact that so many claimed victims who wouldn't seemingly be under his control/influence anymore haven't said anything, and I just think it's a strange deal. I know Hollywood is tight-knit and there is a risk of blackballing, etc., but again, I think the conventional wisdom is that he's abused/manipulated hundreds of girls, and I expect plenty of them aren't even in the business anymore.
He's gross and I generally assume the claim that he's a predator is true, but in watching similar cases, over time the detailed claims have trickled out and built up steam, even for powerful people. I suppose I expected that the McCurdy/LA times stuff from 2022 was going to blow this wide open - and I don't think it came close to really doing that.
