When does Skenes pitch again? Game 3 on short rest?

Skenes will not pitch unless we make it to Saturday.

If the win is blowing in again like yesterday, start Money and use the relievers as needed.

If it’s light, like our first game, Coleman, Ack, Herring, Cooper, Guidry..

I think he could pitch Thursday.. the goal is to make it to the finals. Can’t plan ahead

I don’t know why ppl are stuck on this… if we win tonight we will see Skenes tomorrow or Thursday.

If you pitch him tomorrow on a 70-80 pitch count you will likely see him again Sunday or Monday if we win the Thursday game. Monday being better for the 5 days rest.

If you throw him Thursday and we win… then we are in the same situation that we are in now and you would have to throw him on Monday with a pitch count. That would be on 4 days rest.

We have to win tonight and that won’t be an easy task.

They are not throwing Skenes on 3 days rest after throwing 120+ pitches. Likely not on 4 days rest either.

The next time we see Skenes pitch will either be for LSU on Saturday or in the minors in like 2 months.

I’d keep his pitch count to 60 or so and hope we get a big lead so pulling him won’t matter.

"IF" we get to Thursday's if necessary game against Wake, Skenes will want the ball.

That will be 4 days rest. And he will pitch.

Does that mean he starts and goes 7? I doubt it.

Could we bring him in in the 7th and let him finish it? Yea maybe. That might be the best idea.... 3 innings and 50 pitches.

If we win that, he might could rest 3 days and start game 3 of the championship series.... if we get far.

But he'll want the ball.

Lol to anybody who thinks Paul Skenes would not get the ball on Thursday on 4 days rest to go to the Natty.

Not to hijack the thread, but it sounds like he may go straight to a major league bullpen.

ETA: then go to the minors next year to work up as a starter.

If he gets drafted by the Pirates, there's a good chance he's pitching in the bullpen in September and possibly postseason. But they are going to give him a few minor league outings before that happens.

They are not going to risk injury to win on short rest with the amount of money he is about to make in MLB.

The days of seeing guys like Ben McDonald are over...sure you might see some rubber arms pithing tons of pitches are on short rest but doubtful you will see that from and LSU pitchers anymore

I will actually be pissed if they let Skenes pitch tomorrow. I would be mad, but understand if he pitches Thursday, but it better be 60 or fewer.

This is all assuming they can win tonight though, which is far from a given.

4 days may be shorter rest than he's used to but it's enough to send the best pitcher in baseball out in a marbles game without being labled irresponsible. And we will.

You do realize it will probably be up to Skenes right?
Jay Johnson will not save his arm for the MLB while he’s still in an LSU uniform at the CWS. I’m not saying he’ll do anything ridiculous to try and injure the kid, but the people who think you have to wait 5-7 days to throw a baseball again after pitching are just ignorant

You plan ahead with his future not baseball.
Blow his arm out on short rest and you will never get an elite pitcher here again

The way LSU has handled Skeenes all year does not lead me to believe they will throw him on short rest...doesn't mean i think he shouldn't be able to throw thursday

I’m sure JJ and the medical staff know more than a bunch of randoms in here, if they feel he can go, they’ll let him go.
