BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge Police headquarters was evacuated Friday over what police would only describe as an "emergency" situation.

Video captured by WBRZ showed vehicles filing out of the parking lot around noon as officers blocked access to headquarters, located on Airline Highway near Goodwood Boulevard.

A police spokesperson confirmed the evacuation but would not say more about the situation.

BRPD’s HQ evacuated

First, a deadly shooting off of Goodwood Boulevard this morning, now this.

Obviously, somebody who works in the office didn’t want to come to work today so they called a bomb threat.

So they finally saw the homicide numbers for this quarter.

Someone took an explosive device to the cop station to find out what to do with it.
I see the tune changing from Florida man to Louisiana man.

At least the Goodwood killing was domestic. Not that domestic violence isn't terrible, but generally not a threat to the general public.

Sounds like it might have been an accident considering the negligent homicide charge. Dumbass was probably playing with a pistol without really knowing how to operate it.

The man told officials he had just cleaned out a storage unit and found what he believed was C4.

quote:

The man loaded what he thought was C4, drove to BRPD headquarters to ask where he should dispose of it properly.

quote:

However, sources now confirm the conversation was taken as the man had brought C4 to BRPD.

That doesn’t make sense
