Especially when they say neither of the top two WBB players in the portal would be coming here.

Because that’s the same as understanding sports terminology I’m sure

Dudes got some wheels and he’s good in the field. Pretty decent bat. I think this is a good pickup for us

Hate to be that guy, but it sure seems like we could have found someone with much better batting numbers in the portal. He did hit better as a freshman than as a sophomore.

He will be next year's Ben Nippolt. We need infielders, even if only back up ones. J's not bringing him in to knock in runs.

Gamecocks message board thoughts about him FWIW

They’re funny over there, the comment about the Liberty pitcher cracked me up.

Lots of love for Braswell, seems like the consensus is they will miss him — that’s usually a good sign.

This guy is an absolute stud. Had a great freshman year, slumped a bit this year. Needed a change of scenery.

Could also pitch, apparently.

I asked my friend that lives in Columbia, SC who is a big SC baseball fan and attends as many games as possible:

What can you tell me about this ex-SC baseball player? I read he can also pitch.

And here is his response:

I’ve been so busy at work I hadn’t even seen this.

I *love* this kid. I’m disappointed he decided to leave. He came out strong last year as a freshman, then in mid-season, when opponents finally got a book on him, he struggled a bit. Started 2023 on the bench, but started a stack of games with injuries to McGillis and Wimmer. He was instrumental in the dominant Columbia Regional.

Stats: Michael Braswell – University of South Carolina Athletics (gamecocksonline.com)

He may not be a starter next year at LSU, but he won’t be a disappointment.

I never saw him pitch. No idea it was an option.

Kingston probably wouldn’t give him the opportunity.
