I guess southern history never happened.

Everything is getting renamed locally. Streets, schools, parks...
Has to have a native name that 90% of the natives cannot pronounce or understand what it means.

Victors write the history books. Tale as old as time.

White Southern history, you mean.

“… Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right…”

The current war isn't on a battlefield, it's in the culture. The left is advancing with boldness and they are rewriting history before our eyes.

However, there isn't a memory hole big enough to hide the economic failures, genocides and democides of socialism and communism.
The Black Book of Communism should be mandator course work for HS and college.

In this case, those closer to the time of their “victory” (and in a lot of cases who actually had a direct hand in bringing forth the victory) were actually onboard out such commemorations of their “vanquished.”
Yes, it was certainly a rather peculiar, but I would contend, quite interesting aspect of American history and overall “Cultural Americana.”
Where exactly were those now choosing to ease such vestiges gallantly victorious?

You hit the nail on the head. Elites scapegoating the middle and lower classes. Creating unnecessary turmoil for the crabs in the bucket.

I was referring to the ongoing culture war, not the civil war.

In our every day lives and across all media.

So, it sounds like you want to include all history that fits your narrative, but want to exclude the history you don't like. Fair and balanced.

Nothing at all. But when you pick only the history that you like or fits your narrative, and erase the history you don't like, we are approaching Bolshevism.

Many statues, street names, building names, etc were put in place decades after the civil war.
Thats when history was being rewritten.
Southern mythology is a recent event.
