You can't do that, unfortunately, or you are setting yourself up for a major discrimination case. The best you can do, is implement a wellness plan, which incentivizes healthy lifestyles.

Being willing to justify government control over what we eat based on the existence of other government powers that shouldn’t exist is the height of stupidity.

I don't think they should be banned. But as long as we are paying for healthcare of others then it needs to be taxed like cigarettes.

Government could distribute information and let the consumers decide but the lobbyists make sure that doesn't happen.
theres plenty of info for the consumers to decide. They buy what’s on the shelves.

Our government will ban HCFS only after they find an alternative with the financial backing to pay them to ban the original.

It’s all about making money.

Yep. Just like sugar industry push "fat free" and then doubled or tripled the amount of sugar in products in order to account for the lack of taste. 60yrs later we have a diabetes epidemic and sugar has been found to be at least as bad as saturated fat for the body (if not worse).

All about the money and the FDA is not a protection for consumers, but a clearinghouse for companies.

I’m at a total loss for words as to why/how anyone would want the government to have a scintilla more control over his life than it already does.

Destroy the anti discrimination law.

You don't need to ban stuff. The problem is because government policy supports fatness.

Just get rid of all the laws that subsidize shitty products and protect dysfunctional people from themselves.

I’ll bite. HFC should go the way of other artificial sweeteners.

There was one artificial sweetener that the USDA banned in the 1970’s, Cyclamate. It was banned in the US, but in Europe and Canada it is okay.

Actually, Canadian versions of Sweet n’ Low use this sweetener.

I wonder if that is Europe’s choice of sweetener it’s supposed to taste like sugar, but doesn’t have the aftertaste.

Just read the ingredients. Don't eat it. Lots of healthy food you can eat. Just don't eat the shite. Same with seed oils.

Well, hell, while we are dreaming big, how about companies getting out of the health insurance biz.

Should ban that and red die in food, I’m all about free market and being able to make money but once something is proven to be toxic and cost us millions a year in healthcare it is time to give it the boot.

I guarantee you if THEY paid, they would lose weight.
I donno if that’s true. If a longer, healthier life isn’t incentive enough, probably nothing will do it.

Thst said, not spreading out the consequences with socialized healthcare is the most basic form of true justice. Why should healthy people subsidize the obese?

frick you.

It’s your fault you decided to pay for the healthcare of others. If you don’t like that then remedy it.

Its the perfect illustration of why more government freebies always comes with reduced freedom.

Free isht isn’t free. The cost of dependency is becoming g someone else’s b*tch.

Bravo sir. Not a whole lot left to say. But I will say that it is up to the individual to police their own eating habits. Somehow I must be a genius because I figured it out. Go figure.

In any case I do not want the government with any more say in what anyone does. Especially the federal government

Not no, but heck no. That's dangerous precedent.

What we should do is bring back the great equalizer: Public Shaming. It keeps people in line, we've just ignored how important it was and replaced it with "feelings matter."
