Do we have the pieces to knock off the Nuggets?

Pretty close and pretty far away.

On paper we have the generational superstar. We have one of the best second stars in the game. Veteran leadership. We have young guys with star potential. We have elite young role guys.... we have a good coach.

We give elite teams like Denver hell when we play them.

Cons
Our generational talent has not committed to doing what it takes to win. We still don't know how the pieces fit together. Lack some shooting and shot blocking. Shallow pockets and no history of commitment/ expectations from fanbase.

This was supposed to be our year. I'm bullish on the Pels.

Yes we have the talent to win a title. To answer your question.

That said, if we don't stay healthy, then the lack of rim protection and a true point guard will prevent us from going all the way

I couldn’t agree more. The biggest issue is our generational talent is more interested in McDonald’s and big bootys than actually winning a championship. Until he grows up or we get another generational talent (Scoot?) we’re pretty far away.

Even if both are 100% healthy, probably not.

But if we can magically have our 2 best players stay healthy for once, I think we're in the discussion and by the deadline, we may know what kind of moves we need to get in that discussion, and should have the assets and flexibility to make a move to get a bit closer.

Maybe further away actually

They're not battle tested. It going to take a lot of playoffs experience and roster tweaking before we can even talk championship.

That's the most disappointing thing about this duo. They haven't played together in meaningful games and still have no idea after 4 seasons.

We are a couple of Zion healthy seasons away, along with an additional shooter or two

I mean what have we seen from Zion that gives us confidence that hes going to be dedicated mature and stay healthy for even one season? The guy is a mess, I cant believe hes going to magically turn it around and be healthy for consistent seasons.

According to the multiple ‘Trade BI’ threads all we need is a healthy Zion.
So, somewhere between not close and never.

If fully healthy, this current roster can win a series, maybe 2. Mediocre 3-point shooting and lack of post defense would kill us against opponents deep in the playoffs
