Big Ben says Skenes day one allday everyday. Might even get to see him 3 times depending on pitch count and how the offense is going….

I’ll trust Big Ben with this one

I am going to start asking this to everyone that says hold Skenes. Knowing the results were you ok when CPM started Poche over Lange in 2015?

You can’t win games 1 and 2 without winning game 1 first. The rest of the season it isn’t about setting up pitching. It’s about winning every game then worry about the next one after that. You start the best starter you have available.

Also if you hold Skenes and lose games 1 or 2 you won’t have him available for one of the games against the 2-0 team. Pitching Skenes first is the only way he would be able to pitch two games before the championship series.

Apples to oranges. The CWS is now 2 days shorter 11 vs 13 days. You need more than 2 studs now-a-days to get thru

Holding Skenes sets you up to win both. Best on best. You throw the absolute kitchen sink at Tenner knowing if you can get by, Skenes can give us 7+ vs WF. If you lose game 1, so be it. We have Skenes ready to go on elimiation Monday and we're back in the same spot

And throwing him here would put him in serious jeopardy of even throwing in the CS. Hold him for marbles game vs Wake and then make them beat us twice to get to the weekend.

Was really hoping Tenn wouldn't make Omaha

Me too, but it will be great to drink Vitello's tears!

If you pitch Skenes on Monday in the losers bracket, you probably won't see him a second time, unless it's on an extremely short rest.

Pitch him early and hope you get to use him again.

Wake Forest says hello

Who have they really beaten? I saw Alabama play them tin a 5-4 game and Alabama didn’t have Paul Skenes on the mound. Yes they beat Alabama badly after Bama used all of their pitching.

I would rather have matched up the first game with Wake Forest to allow Skenes to match up against them. Tennessee is not nearly as good as Wake Forest but they have already seen Skenes and they do have a good offense that is definitely an advantage. But still like our chances against Tennessee with Skenes on the mound.

Don't do this all week. Skenes WILL pitch game 1. Skenes SHOULD pitch game 1.
