4-star safety Joel Rogers sets commitment date

Rogers is the No. 350 overall prospect and No. 31 safety in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in Louisiana.
On3 rates Rogers higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 186 overall prospect, No. 17 safety and No. 4 player in Louisiana.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU has a commanding lead for Rogers’ commitment at 98.0%. He last visited the Tigers on the weekend of June 3 for an official visit.
“It’s really big,” Rogers told On3’s Sam Spiegelman on March 17 about being offered by LSU. “It used to just be a dream; now it’s a reality. My hometown school. Where I live, everyone knows of LSU football and now I got the offer. I was hoping for it, but I was really surprised.”

Finished fifth as a sophomore in the Louisiana 3A long jump finals (21-1.25) after posting a 21-9.25 at regionals. Member of West Feliciana's 4x200 relay, which placed seventh at the 3A state meet. Also qualified for regionals in the 200 meters, placing fifth with a 22.87. Added an 11.72 100 in Spring 2022.
Competed in 4x100 and 4x200 relays as a freshman in Spring 2021. Also posted an 18-7 long jump and 39-6 during freshman campaign.
