My great uncle was stationed in Africa in the tank division battling Rommel throughout the desert when they came across a small German patrol. My uncle shot and killed the German officer standing in a Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251 half track. He took his gun, holster, all his Nazi medals and ammunition and buried it in the desert to retrieve it later. He brought it home after the war and has been in my family ever since.
As I type this I’m at my model desk working on a Sd.kfz 251/22 Ausf. D

There is one obituary for James R Edmondson
I found a few things, but now I am at a loss.
Find a Grave
This is his grave with his wife Margaret Hipkins Edmondson who was nicknamed Peg. She died 4 years after him. His original gravestone is also on that page which matches the birth and death date. Also says he was a 1LT in the US Air Force and the grave is in Elizabethtown, KY. Cannot find anything on Margaret though.

I'd be interested to see what the production date is on that CZ. That has to be a late war production with that type of rough quality
I belive it to be a mid war production.
1. The serial number is in the 200,000. I usually see the 300,00's.
2. The top slide is stamped something something Prague w eagle. As the war progressed the Germans sped up gun productions be eliminating unessecary items such as barrel slide stamping.
I hope it's at least a 43. But have yet to find a production chart.

That model was produced between 1936 and 1945. There were just under 500k produced. Three versions of it were produced in different finishes. google CZ 27 serial numbers and it will give you the CZ site.

That looks like the same person to me. The shape of the chin is still uneven on both the young and older picture.

This is a tough call, but I’m going with top right.

What sort of work do you that keeps you so busy? Is it related to all this?

I am looking for a small video camera now and I plan to start a youtube channel.. I plane to read all the WWII letters that I have... I believe I have about 300 so far and know that will grow..
I truely enjoy reading what they wrote, how they felt and what was going on in the country and their monds back then... And you can decipher so much from a letter or photo.
That is really, really cool. I would encourage you to speak to any living WWII vet you can and on camera if possible. You are a true historian.

Warren E Arieux?
Second Lieutenant (Air Corps) Warren E. Arieux (ASN: 0-676399), United States Army Air Forces, was captured by German forces after his aircraft was shot down on or about February 24, 1944 and was held as a Prisoner of War until his return to U.S. Military Control at the end of hostilities in May 1945.

Middle guy on the right. Cap tilted the same and the ear lobes match

Warren Arieux worked for Prudential.

I think it's Edmondson too, although I wanted it to be Arieux. He has a heroic story and I can't imagine a cooler name for a bombardier. I can't find anything about James Edmondson though.
Warren apparently had a huge family maybe a poster here will recognize him and confirm whether it was his gear or not.

First off Misnomer.. Thank You.
I truly enjoy reaserching this stuff. I will print this info up and put it in a 3 ring binder when I get home.
Everything I have is documented and researched as best as I can. For properity sake.
I believe it to be Arieux.
Edmondson has too round a face. Arieux has a long elated face with chin.
When I get back home also I will pull the suit and search for a name inside.. We have a 50/50 shot here.
Someone asked about my job. I was thinking the other day: "How can I collect, search and research WWII and get paid?" I guess right now I am an unpaid museum curator...
But for work... let's just say I am self employed, with a business and a few properties.. I am working on one property today in S Oklahoma and then I will got to one in Arkansas next week. While the main business keeps going in the city...
Back to the suit. The collector I got it from, got it at a military show in Kentucky. But there is a good chance it actually came from the military show in New Orleans.. Which is another plus for it to belong to Arieux.
Here is the fun part. Speculation. If it was Arieux and he was captured, there is a good possibility this suit was in his closet as he sat at the war in a pow camp and stayed there until his return..

Ok... limited research on this pos tablet in the boonies.
Assuming it is Mr. Arieux.
389th Bomb Group
567th Bomb Squadron.
B-24 Liberator tail number 42-100338
Flying out of Hethel AAF Station 114 in central eastern England.
Failed to return from mission over Buttar Germany Feb, 24, 1944
The Pilot was Claude E White from Shawnee, Oklahoma. Whom ironical flew another B-24 home in an emergency landing with only 1 wheel down and the number 4 engine on fire. The plane was "Hey wadda gal" on Feb 13th
It was less than 2 weeks later that they were shot down by fighters on Feb 24 in B-24 42-100338
My deduction here is that Claude White and Warren Arieux were given a new ship while "Hey wadda gal" was under repair, and they did not have the new ship 42-100338 long enough to take any photos of it, or name it, before it was shot down by fighters.

So someone sold you a bouncing Betty? Is it live or is it just the casing? Either way I would be surprised if it’s legal for a civilian to own one. Your collection is fantastic.

I found this on Ancestry
Clipping I made from an article on Newspapers.com
I clipped it from this page, which is too large to embed here. Right-click on the link or image if you want to save it. The clipped part is on the first column, about two-thirds down the page:

As for Edmondson, I found this on Newspapers.com
and either a newspaper photo or book photo found on Ancestry
