Latest WWII Finds.... 6-9-23

Not much really.. and I have been extremely busy.

I got a few neat pieces... and here we go. I have very little time for this post but will do my best. I guess that I will start here.

German Anti Personnel "S" Mine" aka "Bouncing Betty".. "S" was for shrapnel. This was the one the US Doggies hated the most. Once tripped it would bounce up about 3 feet and exploded hundreds of steel balls everywhere in a effort to wound infantrymen. a really ugly beast here.




Next... Pilots FLight suit. Being this one is lightweight as it is I believe this to belong to a pilot/bombardier in the Pacific.




The Mae West is Dated. 1944




It belong to this man. His photo and other items were in the pocket.. Unfortunately I have absolutely zero information on Who this Gentleman is. But maybe there is something that I can do.

and inside that is... This picture... His sweetheart.




and lastly... finally a CZ 27.. Built in Czechoslovakia. But when the Germans over ran Czechoslovakia they took over the weapons plants and started producing weapons for their military and gave them the eagle with Swastika.

The CZ27 was issued mostly to the Luftwaffe and was a favored gun by Luftwaffe personnel such as Pilots/Bomadiers/gunners etc... I believe because they were light, small and had a recessed hammer which would allow to be stored in pants, jacket pocket without a holster and not get hung up due to a hammer catching the clothing. I absolutely love this piece.

I saw the "WHo gets your stuff when you die" thread.. It made me think... I am up to 5 mannequins now and growing. I need a larger house... But what I am planning on doing is this. I hope to make my collection an official museum. Starting by making it a non profit organization for now.

AS I was travelling through Kansas I saw an Abandoned Train Station in Concordia Kansas. This gave me the idea that I will start seeking out an Abandoned Train Station and it would be the perfect place to actually set up.

When I pass, I want the entire collection to be a public display and own entity as a stand alone museum.

Right now I need more room for my diorama and displays.
