Please keep the smart arse replies to a minimum.
Just want to know about what a dentist will charge.

Insurance covers it, but, I think my guy charges $150-$200 without insurance.

I don’t know if a dentist office would do that sort of thing. Probably a massage parlor is your best bet.

I don’t think most here understand what a deep cleaning is based on the responses.
Scaling and planing your roots will cost a couple of hundred per quadrant and take like 3 visits total (1 is a follow up) each about an hour long.

Are they going to throw in X-rays?

$1600 according to a patient the other day. She didn't have insurance.

A deep cleaning like scaling and root planing? $1200-$1600 without insurance.
The people saying in the $200 range are talking about a normal cleaning.
Edit: it does kind of matter how bad your mouth is though. If they are only doing 1 quadrant it will likely be much cheaper.

You wanting a happy ending or just plain cleaning?

Put it off for a bit and find a cheap dental plan.

I’m old, I remember when they didn’t offer a half arse cleaning and a deep cleaning.

All these answers saying $200+ are getting ripped off. I know because I was, too. After I paid, I texted my friend who's mom is a dentist. Her mom said the national average for a cleaning is $80-$85.

Deep cleaning is not the same as your normal cleaning. Scaling and root planing can be around $250-$400 per quad. You usually have to be numbed and 2 quads are done per visit. These are needed when you have buildup under the gums visible only via xray - which means its pretty bad. Leaving it alone will eventually cause bone loss > tooth mobility > loss of teeth
Normal cleanings range about $150-$250 depending on if xrays are due
