He’s an incredible hitter. He would be a ridiculous prospect if he were just above average as a catcher.

He’s got a lot to consider, esp with what he may make with NIL. He’s quickly turning into a fan favorite and could be in for a lot of money if he stays. That said, although his bat may be ready for the pros, his defense is really lacking. He seems to get lazy at times blocking balls. He needs to either work on his defensive skills or try first base. He’s a slump away from not starting because we know what we have defensively with Neal and Milllazo.

I’d be surprised if he’s considered a catcher at the next level.

I’d like both in the lineup.

In pro ball you are young at 22 and old at 23

Thompson isn't nearly as bad as some of you dumbasses think he is.

Come back so he can get low balled in the draft as a senior? He's produced for 3 seasons, played for team USA, showed he can play a passable outfield if needed. He's proven all he needs to and will be a top 3-5 rounder

With all his pass balls behind the plate that he allows, he ain’t going to make it in the bigs as a catcher

A RH/RH, DH/1B only that is strength over bat speed with extremely limited sample size in plus production.

I don’t even know where to begin on where to project a profile like that gets drafted.

Could see as high as the 6th round if someone believed in the bat.

Could see undrafted if organizations believe spin and good fastballs would constantly beat him.

Travinski's really a weird one to project.

The bat isn't a fluke, I seem to recall him hitting bombs last season against Florida and some others. He's got elite power, did last year too. The problem is, they can't get him on the field. He's been decent recently at catcher, but I suspect what we saw today is similar to what Johnson sees in practices. I don't know if his frame is too big, or what.

What's odd is that they didn't try him at 1st like Jones, or DH like Beloso. Maybe they just didn't think he'd go off like THIS... but in retrospect you have to wonder what took so long to get him in the lineup.

What’s crazy is, you can still put together the core of a strong lineup with what is left behind.

I don’t see him being a catcher at the next level. But yeah, his bat is what MLB teams won’t overlook

He can learn 1b in the minors. His bat will never be hotter.

He wasn’t hitting like this early in the season when others were hitting better.

I would like to see him comeback but I think he just made himself a lot of $. Also Jay told Jared Jones he would move to catcher for next year so I think we can have another version of Travinski in Jared Jones.

Who's a bigger dumbass? The guy asking an honest question or the guy that assumes there is some other meaning behind the question? No need to be a dick about it.
