A pellet gun shot to the head will do the trick and it's quiet enough to not alert the neighbors.

If you don't already have one, borrow one for a few days and get the deed done.

Pellet gun (or suppressed 22 subsonic), or trap him in a live trap and dunk the trap into a bin of water for about 60 seconds or so.
