Bought on vudu to re watch Sunday evening. Lady friend was mad at the ending but I thought it was one of the best twists ever. I almost always figure things out mid way through the movie but this one got me.
I like the entire concept of who the characters are and why they are all there.

I haven't seen it since it came out on video but I recall liking it. I feel like there was a time when they made a lot of movies like this. I'm not sure if it was the 6th Sense effect or what. Frailty was another one that comes to mind.

Fantastic movie, and VERY underrated. Mostly because a lot of people simply have never heard of it I don't think.

This and Frequency came out close to the same time period, and both of these are absolute gems. I don't know why they always lump together in my head (they are different movies, but the feel of them seem similar? idk), but I can't hear or think of one without thinking about the other.

Agree that Identity was extremely underappreciated, and very well cast.

Saw it at the theater but can't remember my exact thoughts on it. Must not have been too memorable. I do seem to remember, though, it being one of the first movies to have to deal with the proliferation of cell phones. (Something about the characters losing their signal/bars, maybe?)

Yep.
One particularly stupid character ends up in trouble because she is chasing signal bars and not watching where she is going.
As far as the film itself goes, I think it had a great cast (John Cusack, Ray Liotta, Jake Busey, etc) and an interesting twist on the story formula it is using, which is an old Agatha Christie play.

I rented this from Blockbuster LOL.
My neighbors came over and we were watching it when they got a call that they needed to go pick up their son from something, can't remember what. We were about halfway through the movie and we all tripping out by how things had gotten weird with the story.
We paused the movie so they could go get their kid. That gave me time to think about what was happening in the story, while not being "in" the story. The neighbors were back in about 15 minutes and by that time I had begun to formulate an idea of what I thought was going on.
When they got back I told them "I think I know what's happening, but I don't want to spoil it for y'all. They insisted I tell them what I was thinking, and talked me in to it. As I explained my theory (which was correct) their eyes got wider and wider. Then we finished the movie and sure as shite, I was right. We all enjoyed it and they got a good laugh out of how good the twist was.
Now I want to go back and watch it again.

Frailty is the best of the bunch. Paxton was something special in that one. I need to do a marathon with my son watching all of these. Stigmata and Stir of Echoes need to be in that marathon as well.

Based on a book by Richard Matheson, who also wrote the original story of I Am Legend, the original Night Stalker TV movie, and a number of classic Twilight Zone episodes including Nightmare at 20000 Feet and Little Girl Lost.
While they took some liberties with updating the film (original story was from the 50s), I loved the movie and thought it was going to be a big success. Then The Sixth Sense kicked the living shite out of it that summer.
