“Well, Grant, we’ve had the devil’s own day, haven’t we.” -Sherman to Grant
To which Grant replied, “Yes”, “Lick ‘em tomorrow, though”.

We’ll ‘lick ‘em tomorrow and Wednesday.

Doesn't make today any less shameful.

Oakland is BAD, but I don't think they are give up 6 in the 9th bad, huh?

Not with Ozuna, Rosario, and lefty Ozzie due up.

The bullpen needs to be addressed now.

Bullpen moves can be a crap shoot but AA is going to have to roll the dice and do a complete overhaul mid season. Everyone but Iglesias is on the block.

Anyone else shocked that we're down in the 9th and we come out swinging for the fences for a 5-run homer?

Did Moylan just say "shitburger"?

He might be the only one we could get something back for

While the A’s suck, this is the most predictable loss of the young season thus far. The way we beat the Phillies last night + travel shenanigans. Just a bad mix.

We don’t have any trade bait but surely we have the financial flexibility to buy a few guys.

Is that what he called Luetge?

I would trade Dodd right now for something.

There’s nothing predictable about what may be the worst team in MLB history with its biggest win of the season (5 run differential) over a WS hopeful.
No we don’t expect a 162-0 season but sometimes you gotta call a spade a spade. This is a bad loss.

Just a guess, but one of Shuster/Dodd and Grissom get traded by the deadline. I just hope AA doesn't panic trade Grissom for a dogshit reliever like he did with JHM.

Yep.

Dodd is the best bet to punt on. He's more of a finished product already than what Shuster is. Just hope some team bites because he's a lefty starter.

Shuster is close to being untouchable for me. I would hate to part with Grissom because his bat will play in the bigs.

Snapping 11 game losing streak, 11th win, beating Atlanta 1st time since 05, A's should have celebrated with a dog pile on the mound.

That was their largest margin of victory this season too.

Look at the bright side. Didn’t get swept by the Dodgers and split against the 4th place team in the division.

Really though, while I can be a pessimist, I fully expect to see a deep playoff run. But damn it if AA doesn’t get some pen help.

Some reporter just asked Soroka why he didn’t celebrate when Rosario robbed the HR.

He obviously did but wtf

I think we make it to the playoffs by winning the division with 95+ wins.

Too far ahead to say how we do in the postseason, but the biggest thing that plagued us in the NLDS last year (feast or famine offense) is still an issue, not to mention our bullpen is a bunch of headcases and AAA guys.
