Some reporter just asked Soroka why he didn’t celebrate when Rosario robbed the HR.

He obviously did but wtf

Even if their wasn't video of him very clearly celebrating the robbery, that's a really stupid question to ask.

Deep run may have more to do with lucking up with trade deadline pick ups, ala Joc, Soler, and playoff Eddie.

I honestly didn’t even watch tonight because I knew we would not be competitive after a back to back and a flight to California. The guys had to be pretty exhausted having to do all that in less than 24 hours after a 10 game home stretch. I knew we would be flat

Why would you get rid of your best pen guy who also happens to be our closer?

Your post makes no sense.

Why would this matter at all to anyone on that team? Even if we were a divisional rival I don't think they dogpile in this situation

This is a bad loss.

No such thing as bad losses in the regular season. Last year, after every loss to a shite opponent, or loss where we blew big leads or 9th inning leads....like clockwork folks would come on here or twitter or elsewhere and proclaim it a bad loss or the loss that would ultimately be the turning point in the season.

Every time we went on a run afterwards and those losses were forgotten on the way to 100 wins.

That’s really what the postseason is TBH. Look at Philly last year. Hell us in 21. Neither were the best teams for 162.

I don't remember the Braves losing to anyone last season who may actually win less than 40 games all season. It's a weird sport though.

Oakland also has wins over Baltimore and Texas, two teams with better records than the Braves.

Its one game coming off a cross country flight after a late game. I don't even think we are real contenders for a WS this year as it sits today unless we make some big improvements in the pen, but some of y'all are overreacting to this game

I don't think yesterday's outcome has any real bearing on our postseason hopes, but it was still a shameful loss to a AAA team.

The Braves are 7-11 in their last 18 but it just seems like it has been a lot worse than that for some reason.

I have a good friend who is a Reds fan and I distinctly thinking along these lines when the Braves split a 4 game series with them and they went on to start 3-23 and he was like “at least we are clearly as good as the Braves.” If you do the math that means we lost 2 games to an abysmal team that was 1-21 against the rest of their schedule. Now they went on to lose a merely horrible 100 games instead of the record loss pace they were on, but still. It happens.

I think its very sensible. Is he not the one bullpen guy we could get return for? I am not advocating that we do it. Merely illustrating how bad our bullpen is. You think we can get something for Luetge, Jiminez, Tonkin, maybe we get something for Minter but not much. Anyway, I rest my case

I get what you are saying but you are thinking about it in terms of trying to manage things financially with bullpen arms for bullpen arms trades. That won’t get us shite unless we just get lucky with some other fringe/middling reliever we bring in.

I’m talking more in terms of getting an out of contention team to take Tonkin and Jimenez along with Dennis Dodd or another farm piece in exchange for a really good bullpen piece that they don’t want to pay on a losing team.

If you're going into the deadline needing to make the bullpen better, you don't trade your best arm in the pen to do that.

You trade your minor leaguers.

7-11 is pretty bad.
