No, the issue isn’t about removing consequences. The issue is looking at why so many sacrifices and decisions even have to be made in the first place. The issue is looking at the root cause: the decline in purchasing power and wages.
Are you saying the government needs to stop printing money we don't have? If so I agree. Even so, if you make good choices, having children does not require sacrifices that are beyond what any parent would willingly if not gladly make.

She is right. Having children complicates life. Being responsible for caring, feeding, teaching, and preparing another human for life is incredibly difficult.
The "incentive" for having children is being a parent, not getting paid leave from work or free day care. What a selfish, immature, sad way to see the world.

Agreed.
I can certainly understand the happiness your own children can bring to you, but the notion that my life is somehow incomplete if I don't have children of my own is non-sense.
I used to feel the same way until I had them. It opens up a piece of you that you never even knew existed. So maybe you do feel complete not knowing something even exists.
Live your life though.

Yes, among many other things.

It is literally impossible to imagine what life right now would be like without my little girl.
All I can imagine is that my life would be much diminished and I'd be too arrogant and ignorant to even realize it.

The replacement rate for those with more money is not sustainable.

The birth rate in the United States was highest in families that had under 10,000 U.S. dollars in income per year, at 66.44 births per 1,000 women. As the income scale increases, the birth rate decreases, with families making 200,000 U.S. dollars or more per year having the lowest birth rate

It's a scam alright.. a scam on the US Taxpayer.
No Job, No Skill, No education, have a kid...
You get about $500k from the government over the 18 years of that kid's childhood, plus any child support you can get out of the father.
That's like winning a $1 million dollar lottery ticket, after taxes, annuitized.
Have a kid = win lottery.
Have 2 kids = win lottery twice!
But only if you are poor.
Honk Honk.

The decline in purchasing power and wages is a direct result of inflation. Inflation is entirely created, and can only be created, by the government. If your many other things include social engineering, or support for irresponsible people who make bad choices, then it is horseshite as well.

Imagine thinking that having kids should be profitable. What do they want to bring back chattel slavery, so you can sell them?
Posted on 5/26/23 at 2:28 pm to troyt37
Most “social engineering” is performed by government tax, immigration, education, regulatory, and entitlement policies. The income tax is one of the most powerful forms of social engineering ever utilized by man. In addition, our government indulges in massive amounts of social engineering via grant programs to state and local governments, corporations bidding on public projects, ngo’s, and educational/research institutions via conditions placed on these grants to remain eligible for funding. Much of our public education crisis can be traced back to bad policies enacted by state and local school system superintendents to chase or preserve eligibility for federal funding.

Thats a sacrifice adults make to have kids and always have.

I mean, if you have to quit your job to raise your kid, and quitting your job means you can no longer afford your apartment, is it really THAT selfish to keep working your job?
