DeSantis problem is that his brand completely lacks humor

I predict that DeSantis is not going to be able to generate significant organic grassroots support because he has branded himself as this sort of competent culture warrior. He’s done a good job with that but this role is, essentially by definition, very humorless. When was the last time DeSantis made you laugh? When was the last time DeSantis made anyone laugh? For all of his flaws, Trump’s grassroots support is based on Trump’s brand of bringing a sort of folk hero, Br’er rabbit-like humor and mischief to politics that DeSantis will never match. Meatball Rob has painted himself into a corner with his self-imposed brand of the “drama-free Trump” which is a big part of why his campaign is struggling to get off of the ground. The “drama” is a big part of Trump’s appeal.

It’s not just humor. He’s fake and nobody likes him. Everyone says they get tired of him very quickly. Even Floridians are getting tired of his antics - like his failed Disney war that’s only hurt Floridians

You must not know anyone that lives in Florida. He is universally liked their and most Floridians are sad to see him go.

*looks around*
Any of this garbage seem funny to you guys?
DeSantis should have gotten Uncle Kracker to appear at his launch, perhaps you'd all feel differently then

When you're forced to run against the MSM, as any Republican will be, humor is crucial.

He's literally referring to himself as "Robbie Meatballs" to mock Trumps playground bully style. His humour is on point if you ask me.

Politicians are not elected to tell jokes, they are there to serve the people who elect them. I want someone who will champion American conservatism, not an egotistical carnival barker who only adopts conservative values some of the time.

60-40 in a 50-50 state is Reagan/Mondale numbers. Reagan's electoral win was so big people tend to forget that it was still just a 20 point win.

That’s who they want for 2028.
It’s still trumps turn for 2024. He’s totally got it in the bag, bro.

He's filled with humor!

It’s not as much a lack of humor as it is a lack of charisma. Guy has zero juice.

Trump's base is the reality TV contingent of society
That said, they might be right. "You have to entertaaaiiinnn us!!!!" is annoying but could certainly be a problem.

There's no question it's a problem. In a close race extremely shallow shite will push the squishy middle one way or the other, and we've been that way ever since television.

The MAGA crowd it seems has turned into a bunch of LARPers pretending they are in a battle against a deep state bogeyman and conspiracies around every corner. They've traded in actual politics and governing for entertainment, and just so long as they get some of those sweet lib tears all is well.

A more broader term than just "humor" is authenticity. "Humor" falls under authenticity. The consulting class is blunting Ron's authenticity.
DeSantis has a lot of money to spend and the out of touch Madison Avenue advertising firms cutting ads and the consulting class guiding him are out of touch.
For example, who makes their presidential announcement and fails to produce video of that announcement with Ron addressing the people, shaking hands, kissing babies and hugging moms?
This is just basic campaign stuff. If you want the people's vote Ron really needs to reach out to them. Actually touch your voter's shoulder. Shake their hands. High five them.
