Eastbound and Down and Vice Principles are an absolute must for comedies. Hacks is really funny too.

Deadwood, Barry, Mare of Eastown, and The Newsroom are also must watches imo.

Edit: Start with True Detective S1. It is a masterpiece and must watch. Skip S2, trust me. S3 is ok but nothing rivals S1. If you watch one thing, make it that.

Edit Edit: Chernobyl. Must watch.

I think my order would be:
True Detective S1
Chernobyl
Eastbound and Down
The Newsroom
Vice Principles

You watch those and you're set on good TV for a while. Wish I could watch these for the first time again.

I think True Detective season 2 gets a little too much hate. Is it flawed? Yes. But it has a weird quality to it that is interesting to me.

And Colin Ferrell in particular was really good.

The Tourist is a great show on the Max app.

Just saw today they are currently filming Season 2.

I didn't hate it, but I didn't enjoy it. I tried to re-watch it about a year ago thinking maybe it'd be better on a second viewing, but I only made it 2-3 episodes.

It unfortunately followed up one of the best seasons ever so the letdown didn't help. There was a ton of hype leading up to it and had a big time cast. The acting definitely wasn't the issue.

youve seen most of the staples but people sleep on Generation Kill. basically a modern band of brothers, based on real dudes.

if youre in the mood for somethin funny i dont see eastbound and down on your list and thats criminal.

This. The time period and everything that goes with it is badass, Steve Buscemi is always good, and Michael Pitt is a very underrated actor. I was surprised at how well he played his character

Majority are just listing their favorite shows excluding The Wire and Sopranos.
