A few friends and I debated this last night and all had varying opinions. I’m interested to hear what the board thinks. If your post contains spoilers, give sufficient warning for those who haven’t seen each show.

How I have it:

1. Sopranos
2. The Wire
3. Breaking Bad
4. Better Call Saul (can arguably be lumped in with Breaking Bad)
5. Game of Thrones

Breaking Bad is better than The Wire. Especially when you think of The Wire seasons 4 & 5.

The Wire and GOT had the highest peak but they didn't stick the landing and finished on a bad note.

Sopranos and Breaking Bad were consistently great throughout, so I would give them a slight edge.

BCS was solid but a notch below all of the above. Doubt I would even put it in the top 10 with shows like The Americans, Mad Men, etc. being better. But if you lump it into Breaking Bad, the combo package probably takes the top spot.

1 - LOST
2 - BB
3 - Game of Thrones
4 - Sopranos
5 - Better Call Saul
6 - The Wire

LOST will always be #1 for me. I just never fell in love with The Wire like so many here. I have even tried to go back and watch it but I just dont love it. Probably just me.

1. The Sopranos
2. Breaking Bad
3. Game of Thrones (on the strength of Seasons 1-4)
5. The Wire (really good but last season sucked minus the Bubbles story arc)

Rewatching both Sopranos & The Wire, I think all of the praise that The Wire constantly gets (the series is like a great American novel, it so layered and rich in meanings etc.) I think The Sopranos does better in every single aspect.

Nothing else is in their league. Maybe Homicide: Life On The Street.

The Wire
GoT
BCS
BB

Note: I am currently in S3 of Sopranos. Currently I’d rank it last on this list, but that could change once we are done with it.

Good list. If you go based on my enjoyment on my original watch of the show I would go: The Wire, Sapranos, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and Game of Throwns.

For me I think The Wire and Sapranos were so good and so much better in terms of show quality compared to what was on at the time that pushed those up a bit on my list.

But those are 5 of my all time favorites, I would add The Americans, Justified, Dexter, Deadwood , Freaks and Geeks to round out my top 10 ( Saved by the Bell just missed my top 10).

1 Breaking Bad
2 Sopranos
3 The Wire
4 BCS
5 GOT

Had GOT finished right and strong, with the quality maintaining as it was in seasons 1 - 4..it would be top 2.

1) Sopranos. Really started 'prestige TV." It's so many things. Funny. Family drama. Mob story. It's definitely the most rewatchable show in your list.
2) Breaking Bad - maybe the most perfectly constructed TV plot/character arc ever. Not as re-watchable as Sopranos.
3) Game of Thrones. It didn't stick the landing. But damn the journey was good. This was very, very good television.
4) The Wire
5) Better Call Saul . . fine show, doesn't not belong on this list.

Breaking bad
Sopranos
Better call Saul
GoT
The wire

Consistency means more to me than anything. I want to know that a show is good start to finish. I will say that I didn't dislike season 8 of GoT nearly as much as some people did, and I thought season 7 was actually the weakest season by far.

Even though BCS is a highly regarded show, I think it's a better show than it's even recognized for. For me at least, it was uncharted territory. Pulling off what they did with a prequel was unbelievable to me.

Sopranos number one for me.

Don’t really care how you rank the rest after that.
All that have been mentioned were immensely entertaining.

Would like to throw The Shield out there for an honerable mention at the very least.
