Or maybe we keep out the illegals out of the country and put a stricter limit on govt. handouts maybe that would force a lot of people off govt. assistance and out into these labor jobs. It would help increase wages and reduce govt. Costs all at the same time.

If we don’t have cheap migrant labor, we may actually invest in machines that will pick the crops for us.
IIRC, Australia has done that rather than import a permanent underclass to harvest crops.

2. Abolish welfare for able bodied persons between age 18-65
3. Farmers and construction companies hire persons from #2
The result would be fewer tax dollars spent on welfare and increased government revenues because the people that had been on welfare would be paying taxes.
