Going there this weekend with a group. Playing 5 rounds I believe and staying at the resort.

Anyone been and have any must do’s while we’re there?

I hunt up in that area. I’ve never been to the resort, but it’s supposed to be pretty cool with a lot to do.

If y’all want to get off the resort, there ain’t too much to do other than golf or hunting. Marble Falls is around the corner, there’s a good brewery and a really good breakfast spot with awesome pies!

Both are really good spots for Marble Falls.

Also, River City Grill is a good spot for the view alone, but just okay if you don't have a table that overlooks Lake Marble Falls (which is actually the Colorado River)...the OTHER Colorado River.

I went for a golf trip in the fall. We played too much to be able to do anything other than golf. I liked Apple way more than Ram. It's most likely because I played a lot better on Apple and Ram is probably harder, but Apple also has better views. #10 is pretty beautiful. Keep your drive on the right side of that fairway or else the ball will roll all the way out of bounds on the left.

It's a cool spot, but I was expecting more TBH. I've played all the Resort courses as well as Summit and Escondido.

The Yacht Club is kind of cool. There's a sports bar by the mini golf course behind the hotel. Good pizza.

Summit and Escondito are both private right? Do you know anything about Legends in Kingsland?

Yes. I'm pretty sure summit is like an expensive add on to a Horseshoe Bay membership. Escondido has no affiliation with HB, but it's super badass.

I know nothing about Legends. Never heard of it.

I haven’t played Legends but I played Lighthouse.
Nice old school course. Nothing special. Greens can be super slick. Good MGA, regular games on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They let me join in and play.

We do our fantasy football draft at a buddy's lakehouse in Kingsland every year and have a golf tournament at Legend's on the day before. It's a decent course but not something I'd travel out of the way to play. Certainly won't be at the same standard of a resort or anything like that.

Slick Rock is very easy. Apple Rock is fun and has great views. Ram Rock is pretty difficult.

I enjoy Legends at LBJ and play it every time I visit my mom on Lake Buchanan. I also stop at bluebonnet and get a pie on the way up (and have the guys in the proshop keep it refrigerated while I play).

Just bumping to give a recap / advice:

We arrived Friday and played slick rock and then ram rock. Saturday we woke up and played legends in the AM and apple rock in the PM. Sunday morning we woke up and played Ram again and then hit downtown Austin.

Slick rock - really forgiving and pretty easy, especially compared to Ram. It’s a good course for your first round off the plane but not a course I would play twice on the trip.

Ram rock - as difficult as everyone said and all the workers will reiterate it. This course ate our group up the first time we played it. Excellent condition and views.

Apple rock - by far my favorite course. Excellent combination of forgiving, challenging, and massive elevation changes. Excellent views as others mentioned. I’d play 2 here if you can do it.

Legends - Enjoyed the round here. Greens were slower than expected and some were spotty but for the price it was hard to complain. Lots of deer and wildlife on the course also which was really cool. it def seems like more of a course for locals, which isn’t a bad thing.
