I have Google.

Do you agree?

Hiding behind Christianity isn't a valid excuse to harass people and single them out and wish death upon them.
Ok, so I asked why is it that Christians are preaching. Do you understand why?

Those street preachers are the worst. They do a horrible job of representing Christ, and Christianity as a whole.
Furthermore, from the looks of the article, this preacher wasn't threatened with jail time for preaching. But rather he was given a restraining order after constantly personally harassing a couple.
This seems accurate. Oklahoma is generally a Christian friendly state.
I would note that there are instances of liberal groups singling out people for harassment and there being no consequences.
I wish the Supreme Court would adopt the Castle Doctrine. Protesting at someone's house is almost always borderline extortionary. The protests by Westboro Baptist Church at funerals should also come under a Castle Doctrine.
The problem with all of this is the enforcement always seems highly selective. The bakery that refused to bake the cake for the same sex marriage. They were certainly subjected to harassment. Harassment by gay activists should not be protected.

OT triggered again. "The judge ruled that Penkoski "in a knowing and willful manner, conducted a pattern of conduct which a reasonable person would believe to be harassment and would therefore suffer substantial emotional distress. And it has actually caused substantial emotion distress to the plaintiffs in this case," according to court documents. The judge further ruled that the preacher does not have a constitutional right to repeatedly single out the couple, according to The Examiner-Enterprise."
You people hate the law when it affects you. You love it when it puts people you don't like in jail or in the grave. Keep clutching your pearls...

And to answer, I don't care why because...again...it's not relevant to this discussion.
He singled out and harassed 2 people and wished death on them. Why he did it, under this guise of preaching Christianity is not relevant to this story.

I actually now assume you don’t have the ability to post it as a reference for discussion. Let’s have it. If the guy said anything like is being said here, I will gladly agree that he has no justification to pronounce sentence or wish death as a Christian. IF not, then I expect the same, but for now, in this thread, all I can go on is what is in the article.

How so? His motive shouldn’t be considered?

Lol. Of course motive doesn’t matter. Why would it.

Of course it's spiritual but the couple's fear is that he is specifying the passages to them and someone will take it literally.
Someone’s irrational feelings and hypotheticals shouldn’t cause others freedom of religion to prohibited or freedom of speech to be abridged by the govt.
This couple is putting themselves out in public with their with political advocacy, and this is not about their private lives or their fear but really about their politics. Social media posts referred to in police report and court seem to have started in response to one of the lesbians as part of their group stating to city council that nothing sexual was performed by drag queens at a pride parade in front of kids which this guy counter with a video showing otherwise. Video was cut showing their statement to city council along side a drag queen acting in front of kids during parade like drag queens do.
The police report was also allegedly taken by a cop connected to this advocacy group which is another problematic part of this. Not sure if anything actually found by police outside of report.
Both sides are putting on a show, and the judge should have refrained getting involved like she did with decision. 5 years is another ridiculous part of this. Wondering what the normal time frame for restraining orders is when based on domestic situations with true fears of violence.

These pussies would have died in the 70s going to concerts and having the street preachers unload on their arse.
I went to an Alice Cooper concert at 12 and became the devil incarnate. We kind of took it as a badge of honor.

I'm on my phone now. You can Google and find more information on this case if you like. It took me like 2 minutes to find the actual complaint and screenshots of his posts.
Or don't. I don't care. It's not like anybody in this thread is going to change their opinion.

That’s not true. I am more that willing to pivot with the quickness if someone can simply show me that HE said that they should physically or spiritually die rather than just quoting scripture, and especially if he did not follow up with the message of the Gospel to offer hope. I’ll get my pitchfork and torch and await.

Romans 1 is very clear about this. God is a God of Love; however, He is also a God of Justice. There is no Salvation without Repentance.

quote:All it took was that one caveat for the Judge to issue a 5 yr restraining order against the preacher.
This part I don't get. The "reasonable " test. A fractured society. More and more are melting and can't function when someone said "sir". The one caveat here is a constant reference to a specific couple ... If he just used a general reference to homosexual people how could he be in trouble - regardless of emotional distress levels? Otherwise...anyone that frequently puts out comments that "white people are racist! " should be judged by the same standard
He is welcome to continue on with this ministry and he can carry on preaching God's salvation to the masses. He can camp out on the street corners or at shopping centers and witness to all sorts of people. He can spread the Word.
He cannot target the couple, post photos of them on social media, reference them or specifically single them out on social media.

You think the motive that Christianity says gay people are worthy of death is a valid motive to single out, harass 2 people, and say they should be drowned to death?
quote:Go ahead and give me the theoretical motive that would make his actions justifiable
