You need 14 players to run the tip drill. 7 to start tipping the ball on one end, 7 with another ball at the other basket.

We only have 13 players on the roster. Ast. Coach Gary Redus is still in good enough basketball shape to fill in the 14th spot.

How on earth would you know this? You’re never guaranteed to get who you want and coach knows this. You don’t get to where she is by being unprepared and unorganized.

LSU only had 4 official visits scheduled going into the fall (Cambridge, Edwards, Strong and Koval). So they were highly insistent on landing a couple of these. As you mentioned every coach in America doesn't get everyone they want. Geno misses out on recruits, Dawn misses out on recruits and even Kim. Its part of recruiting, some years will be better/worse than others when you do this long enough and you recruit the best of the best.

LSU was on a high over this last year, they landed Reese, signed that #1 recruiting class, signed HVL/Morrow. They were going to miss on someone at some point eventually, it happens. If academics is a important factor for Koval then there was nothing Kim/LSU can do to. But as you mentioned, Kim has been doing this for so long, I bet she fully understands the possible outcomes in recruiting when doing this. Landing top 5/10 recruits are exceptionally hard, every program in America is going after these players. Lets wait and see what Strong/Cambridge do before passing judgement, if they miss on all I think the criticism is valid but lets wait and see. I know Kim will continue to bring in talent via the portal but even she would tell you HS recruiting is critical long term

In the case of Kate Koval. The brother being in grad school at LSU may not have been the bonus that some assumed. What better way to spend a weekend with your son/brother than an expense paid trip with attendance to a football game?
Always felt that Stanford, Notre Dame and LSU was an odd mix.

With Koval going to ND, Does that open the door for O’Neal?

Ain’t been seeing too much on Redus IG about her or Cambridge. He still posts stuff about the SC chick but I just don’t see her leaving home

I think they really should have had O'Neal coming in for an official regardless of what the others decided. I think its a bit silly not to at least entertain a top 30 6'3 post player with significant LSU ties and interest in LSU... I mean LSU has now backed itself into a corner with limited options for this cycle going all in on that very small group. Even if they landed Strong/Cambridge, adding O'Neal would still be very important for depth purposes, thats assuming LSU lands Strong (which will be a difficult one)

With Koval likely announcing to ND in two days, it would be smart for LSU to host her at some point this month. The only other post LSU reasonably could land is Strong. I just don't see Joyce leaving SC.... Hope Mulkey and Redus work some magic, only signing Richards would be one of Kim's lowest rated recruiting classes since the early 2000s when she just started at Baylor. I know Kim would do well in the portal regardless but this was a major opportunity coming off the national title. Hope they close strong

Texas is the favorite as I think she wants to stay somewhat closer to home (her top 10 list says a lot about that as well), LSU heavily in the mix. Chavez will be in BR in the coming weeks for an unofficial though this month

Last I heard that Texas Tech was the favorite but either way she's not leaving the state of Texas

Interesting if Tech has the lead, regardless Chavez might have the best women’s mixtape. Her game is going to be good for the women’s game like a Caitlin Clark-type entertainer.

And what exactly has CKM done / not done to cause anyone to doubt her? She's proven herself over & over & over again that she knows what the hell she's doing.

Doubtful as the rest of the recruits are going on more visits. Probably has to do with the wnba news
