It is nice. I wish they would have done it all the way to HWY 1088.

They aren’t done with the project. More paving is on the way, with new striping and more signs as well. They start the 21 to 1077 stretch this summer. Will go way faster because of no bridges.

Bristers only good thing is I12. May she rest peacefully, but she did way more harm than good for STP. People love to down Cooper, but if you actually took the time to see what he’s done, you’d be impressed.

It has made a huge difference for Covington traffic too. They should have taken it to 1077 though.

Its the next section. They went up to the hwy 21 overpass… that they now have to expand to mesh with the lanes they just added.

The same thing was done with this project out of BR. They worked in sections between raised interstate sections/bridges.

We still have years of interstate construction left on 12.

They fricked that interchange. NB 190 to I 12 needed two exit lanes...

I agree. The people that designed that intersection should be fired and publicly humiliated.

Thank God they aren’t done because some of those lanes are very half assed. I think they’re working to fix the 12-East 190 exit to make it back to 2 lanes- I saw some chalk lines on it this afternoon like they were going to re-Strip it. Fingers crossed.

They have to. I’m not even sure what everyone is referring to, but imagine it has to be westbound I12 getting off at 190 has downright incorrect signage. There is a lane that says Covington (190 heading north) exit only which continues as the third lane. For a time, it was an exit only for both 190 exits. But now the old 190 lake bound exit is still open off the tight most lane after the Covington exit.

But they still have the sign that says 190 north exit only about a mile east in the wrong lane. That sign is worthless now, and is confusing.

And eta: the lanes and striping are piss poor around there as well, I noted it today. They have to fix that shite.

St Tammany is generally 30 to 50 years behind the infrastructure needs that they cause a need for.
They overbuild like crazy and belatedly realize that they have no roads, bridges, drainage, sewers or water to handle the massive numbers of cheap houses and apartments that they let contractors throw up in foolish, flood prone locations.
St Tammany - Letting contractors construct crap - building the slums of tomorrow and seeding subdivision remedial projects for decades to some.

I remember when they started construction of I-12 there. The brave kids would walk up the unfinished bridge over the Tchefuncte and jump in until the time a girl did it and came up screaming because of a dislocated shoulder.

I spent a lot of time on the river growing up. Jumped off the I-12 bridge too. Different times then.
