How is it that the pitching is this bad after that from a depth standpoint? This is why a guy leaving the pros for college is not something that you crow about. It’s a downgrade for them and likely means they were not doing well.

That said, this team is still in 1st place and will be fine.

I mean the twins were first in their division halfway through the season when he left. But I agree that WJ has not lived up to the hype.

We are down two starting pitchers and key bullpen guys. Giving the guy more than one off season to develop sounds like a decent idea.

Maybe the fact Arkansas fans wanted Wes to replace DVH and the Twins loving Wes is a testament to how dumb some of you sound.

There are some guys that are undeniably better than they were before. But we’re still working off a lot Alan Dunn’s evals

Can the pitching coach throw the ball for you?? No, so at some point it's just the lack of talent.

Not blaming Wes yet

But someone has to to tel Floyd to suck it up. His body language and attitude when things go wrong are terrible.

I 100% expect leadership on the team and coaching to right that wrong. That's been an even more bigger concern the entire season. Floyd just pouting and letting it get to him and not attacking adversity.

The strike zones have been arse tight for everyone. Adjust to it by now

Honest question. You said some of our pitchers are undeniably better. Could you tell me which pitchers those are? Just curious.

That's a thin excuse. Auburn kept sending a bunch of anonymous nobody's out to the mound, and all they did was throw strikes.

Was there more to the story?
How sad were the Twins to see him leave in the middle of a pennant race?

It's not hard to figure out how LSU lost this series, RISP and atrocious bull pen work.

If this team wants to be championship caliber this season, someone needs to suck it up and be that guy. Can’t have pitchers scared on the mound.

If you blaming him for crappy pitching for everyone but Skenes, does he get credit for the best pitcher in college, in Skenes? Asking for friend.

The injuries have played a big issue. A lot of guys are getting significant time in conference play that shouldn’t… at some point, gotta stop blaming Wes. These guys have to step up and throw strikes. If he hits it 500 feet, so be it.. can’t let teams beat us without swinging the bat.

Actually 5

Noot and Appleby were also likely contributors this season.

Losing them plus Taylor, Shores and Edwards is devastating and may well be the reason we don’t get to Omaha.

We're not going to be 1st place much longer. Just hope we win the next few series and make an early exit in SEC tourney need to give our arms a rest.

No doubt injuries have been a problem but to be honest Floyd and Little are basket cases. What is remaining of our pen is not pitching well either. I thought Guidry did well today. Move Little out and put Guidry in there. If Hurd is getting right put him in there. They have to find at least 1 more starter to get out of a Super.

Not disagreeing but, Johnson has stated repeatedly that he and staff had rebuilt the pitching staff. Last year, according to Johnson, he was forced to ride Cooper. This year would be different, he had the pitchers that he could depend on.
We saw a lot of Cooper today, this weekend, even though he wasn't effective.
