Reservation wasn’t ready, but went to bar for drinks. Black Magic Woman and VooDoo child were both very tasty.
Table still not ready 30mins later. This was irritating, but we were able to eat at the bar.
Tuna app was weird. Had a soy based sauce with a delicious ginger slaw. I’m not sure how or where a very strong blue cheese fit into this dish, but it was there. I thought it really ruined the dish. It just didn’t fit.
Wife had scallops with cous cous. This was very good. She had no complaints.
I had the pork chop with collards and sweet potato hash. This was fantastic. Most importantly, they did not overcook it. The accompaniment was delicious.
Sweet potato cake/pie for dessert was the best dessert I’ve had in 15 years (previous was bananas foster cheesecake at Bella Fresca in Shreveport). I’m not a big dessert guy, but this was really good.
Overall, a very good experience.

Went up there last Saturday for a sorority brunch with my daughter(no pics). Started with the boudin dip which was nothing like I expected, but incredibly delicious. I had the oysters sardou which was good. Would have been great but one of my eggs was poached a tad too much. My Wife(no pics) had the Benedict and hers was perfect. I hadn’t been there since I was at LSU, and was very impressed. Oh, and they make one hell of a Sazerac, or was it 3?

Over the past several years I've felt that Juban's was one of the most overrated restaurants in town. I haven't been since the revamp - glad to hear that perhaps it's taken a turn for the better.

You made a reservation and they said frick your reservation? Is this a normal thing at trendy Baton Rouge restaurants?

Me and my girl debated on going last night. We ended up at Portabellos instead.

Our experience at Portabellos was good besides having at 10 top table next to us screaming and acting like wild animals.

I went last week with a group of four. The service in the library was exceptional. The food was really good and the wine list is always really exceptional. It's definitely a different restaurant since the renovation. If you haven't tried it you really should go.
