Those 2 came to my mind also. I’ll add a few names to the group
Russ Springer (Ben, Springer and Byrd rotation is ridiculous)
Gary Hymel
Rick Greene
Leon Landry
Mike Keorner (sp?)

Was gonna say him. Blake Dean outshined him but Schimpf was good in his own right

Probably not the best answer but I am going to say Hunter Gomez. On a staff that had Brian Tallet, Hunter was the Friday night starter for a national championship team. He hardly ever went past 5 innings but he set the table for the weekend.
Yeah I am biased he is a fellow Ponchatoula baw.

One of my all time favorites. I really thought he’d make it in the pros. He was a better version of Jared Mitchell who went in the first.

For me, Mason Katz does not get talked about nearly enough here.
2013. The ultimate dead ball era. The years where it seemed like NOTHING would leave the damn park. Dude had 16 bombs and 70 rbi.... .370 average.
Next closest on the TEAM had 6 bombs.
Idk man i just think he was super clutch and had some serious power. My favorite bat in that entire era. That team had a 57-9 record heading into Omaha. And he was the driving force.
Seems like Raph Rhymes and Nola are all that gets remembered from that team.

I’m surprised no one named Trey Hodges. He was the key in 2000. He got us to the finish line.
Brad Hawpe off that same team doesn’t get mentioned much either. He was a pure college hitter.
