Did they piss and shite themselves for a month then show up for a section eight? I didn't take my student deferment and my number was never up. Look, back then, you volunteered or got drafted or took deferment. I never begrudged anyone getting a deferment. It just wasn't my way. That said, it's a giant leap to living in your own waste encrusted clothing for a month.

Look, we’ll have to agree to disagree re: Nugent and the liberal draft dodgers. With that said, I do want to say that I respect and thank you for your service in Vietnam. The way LBJ handled the war was a disgrace. You guys didn’t lose the war, the politicians did. This country never treated you right after you returned home.

Don’t lie. You might have served begrudgingly but not as a matter of pride. If you would have “proudly “ served then you would have enlisted. In fact, if you were a true brother to “two of your best friends” who were drafted then you would have been compelled to enlist and stand by them in that jungle.
