You’d think we’d learn from these mandatory minimums one day. Absolutes dont work with prison sentences or anything in reality.

Yea it does. One reason New Orleans is so bad now is the Orleans parish prison pre Katrina was a 6500 bed facility. Today it’s 1700.

The US saw a dramatic decrease in violent crime starting mid 90’s. Did all the psychopaths get cured? No we locked them up and threw away the key.

You think there isn’t a correlation to ending cash bail, soft on crime and early release programs and a higher crime rate?

The state of California turned out over 40K inmates in early release starting in 2019. They have a 67% recidivism rate.
