it wasnt him dropping the ball on punt returns, it was the players. I thought he did a great job, the players cost him his job.

I disagree and contend that poor coaching was a major factor in the numerous special teams debacles we all saw last year.

again, the coaches dont drop the ball... the player does... and malik is arguably the most talented athlete on the roster...

Did you read the statement?

He directly thanks Kelly and called him a mentor and friend.

Apparently I’m a massive moron because I read it three times because I found it so weird that he didn’t mention Kelly, and in those three times must have read over his name every time. Moron confirmed

His strength was identifying the talent to pursue, not necessarily as the one closing the deal. This was particularly true in the transfer portal.

This is a net loss for LSU and it's not close. I do not believe he is being forced out.

He gets a lot of shite, and probably deserved, for the special teams, but he is a great personnel guy. This is not to be confused with recruiting, which he is also good at. I'm talking about personnel and roster management.

This is extremely important in this era. There are a lot of great recruiters and coaches that are terrible at personnel and roster management. Polian was one of the best.

I have no doubt that Kelly will get someone great, but this is not a moment to celebrate.

I’m going to still blame him for 2024 kicker we signed.

You do realize he already was no longer an on field coach, right? What specifically related to his current position makes this good news? It might not end up being a major blow, but I fail to see how it can be interpreted as good.

Polian should have stepped down as ST coach or been demoted mid-season last year.

What a pathetic coaching job and terrible decision to place him in that role. The name Brian Polian will leave a bitter taste in the mouth of Tiger fans for years to come.

Last year was the worst season-long special teams performance in LSU history.

Let him move on and let LSU move
on.

Reliable poster on On3 said a few days ago that an off the field coach was causing problems on the staff and that he would be moving on. He didn’t say who at the time but that fits Polian.

I know it's not his alma mater, but GM of LSU football sounds better than AD of John Carroll

None of that is relevant to the question I asked or to his current off field role. I get why people were happy when he was removed from the ST role, but that has nothing to do with this.
